Hello,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.
As per your query you have a rash on inner thigh with redness on the thigh region. It appears that this is either intertrigo or tinea cruris of the affected area.
"Intertrigo” is basically infection and inflammation of the crural folds caused by multiple agents. It basically appears as red raw areas with discomfort and pain. It can be caused by bacteria or fungus. Intertrigo are common type of inflammation and infections which can affect anybody at any site at body folds. But more commonly it affects the areas which are more prone for sweating or moist areas (as in your case) crural(thigh) folds around thighs.
In "Tinea cruris" there are initially reddish- brown small areas to begin with and then becomes large geographical areas due to growth of fungus.
To confirm the same and to guide you for medication and further suggestions I request you to kindly send high resolution pictures of the affected area so that I can help you better. For that you have a feature to upload images by yourself at the right side of the query page. Or else, you can send as an attachment to YYYY@YYYY with the subject as "Attn: Dr. Sanjay Kumar Kanodia.
Kindly also elaborate few more points:
- since how long you have the present condition of redness.
- how much is the itching and pain- mild/ moderate/ severe.
- Are you applying neo clobenate- gm as self application or as prescribed by a dermatologist.
- Are you taking any tablets by mouth or any other treatment.
- Your job profile- are you in continuous sitting job.
Hope to hear soon from your side.
